I was just wondering if anyone has had prolotherapy on their neck and/or shoulders and how long it took to work. I'm starting in a few weeks and would like some
input. Thanks!

Greg

I just finished a 3 time treatment over a period of a couple of months. After the first treatment, I had instant and complete relief for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately,
after the 3rd treatment, I experienced the same if not worse pain after only 5 days. I am back on anti inflammatories. I now have to reconsider my plan of treatment.

Linda,

It sounds like you don't need a new treatment, you need a new doctor! I went to three different so-called "prolotherapists" before I found the right one. The doctor
who is going to do it for me has been doing it for 22 years, and has done a lot of HMS/EDS successfully. He told me itcould take ten or so treatments, each being
two weeks apart. I think maybe you should try to find a new prolo doctor, because it will work it done properly!

I agree with Greg. I have already had about 10 treatments on each side of my neck. After the first few treatments, I definitely felt stronger. This feeling would last a
few weeks but then the pain, inflammation and stifness would come back. But, I got right back on the horse again and continued treatment. I had good and bad times
during the treatments. But after 10 treatments, I have finally gained consisitant and perminant results. Pain is down to almost nothing. Stiffness is completely gone.
There is no more clicking and snapping sounds. All that's left is a little grinding when I turn my head from side to side. My doctor (Dr. Edward Magaziner in New
Jersey) is now hitting some areas he never hit before to get the grinding to go away. The point is, it takes time and results are not always instantanious. Some
nutrients that will assist the prolo and help a bit with the inflammation are as follows: Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, Ortho Prolo Max (This is a prolotherapy
product that Dr. Hauser gives to his patients to assist the body in healing ligaments), Grape seed extract, Vitamin C, Hydrolyzed collagen protein (Arthred). Also,
take a multivitamin/mineral. Greg is right. You may need to find a different prolotherapist. Be patient though. It works!!
