Dear fellow sufferers,
I am thrilled to tell you that prolotherapy has worked like a miracle for me. I was diagnosed with restless leg sydrome six years ago, because my legs ached every
night. I had to walk the floor for relief and got very little sleep. I felt the prolem stemmed from my back after a hard fall from my bicycle. I had back surgery four
years ago, but it didn't help. I went through a battery of tests last year on my back, but nothing was found that suggested a reason for my problems. I saw a segment
on the heath channel about prolotherpay and decided to give it a try. Now, after five prolo treatments to my lower back, my leg aches are gone! I am also getting
shots in my hip, knees, and shoulders for joint pain. I urge you to get the books available and read about the treatment. It is truly benign, so if it doesn't work, it
won't hurt you. It sure beats surgery and meds. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

I am just beginning to learn about HMS. My 14 year daughter has been diagnosed after a visit to the dr. for something unrelated. Reading these letters has confirmed
the diagnosis in my opinion. She pops, she cracks, she hurts, she has restless leg syndrome. I need basic, beginners info about prolothrapy. What is it? How does it
work? Is it a traditional or an alternative type of a treatment?

Thanks

Subject: Proper Prolotherapy Procedures

Hello all. I just received my first round of prolotherapy and some things came as a surprise. If any of these things are unsound please let me know soon. Thanks.

1). The doctor (Dr.) asked me to pick where I wanted the shots but made little attempt to ascertain that the ligaments were actually loose before he gave the shots. I believe he said that it's sometimes tough to detect loose ligaments.
2). The nurse said no restriction of activity is necessary. Can new tissue really endure considerable movement?
3) The Dr. wants to charge $500 for shots to all my loose areas (back, neck, and shoulders).
4). Dr. wanted to prescribe about six supplements including prolomax, cod liver oil, musculax (?).

I AM RECIEVING PROLOTHERAPY HAD 2 SHOTS HAVE TO HAVE ABOUT 10 OR 12 ON ALL THE LIGAMENTS IN MY RIGHT ARM. IN THE ORIGINAL INJURY THE LIGAMENTS WERE MESSED UP BUT I LET A DOCTOR PUT ME OUT AND DO A STABILITY TEST ON MY ARM TO SEE IF I NEEDED SURGERY. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE SAID HE WOULD NOT DO SURGERY EVEN THOUGH MY ARM GRINDED LIKE CRAZY HE SAID. ALSO EVER SINCE HE DID THAT MY ARM HAS BEEN LOOSER AND THE LIGAMENTS SEEM MORE STRETCHED. THAT FUCKIN IDIOT MADE IT WORSE. MY PROLOTHERAPIST SEEMS TO THINK I WILL COME BACK 100%. HOWEVER DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PROLOTHERAPY SHORTENS THE LIGAMENTS AS WELL AS STRENGHTENS HE TELLS ME IT DOES. aNYWAY PROLOTHERAPY SHOULD WORK SO ANY OF YOU OUT THERE SEE A PROLOTHERAPIST BEFORE A DOCTOR BECAUSE TRADITIONAL DOCTORS ARE PRICKS AND THEY DONT CARE AND THEY MAKE SHIT WORSE.

Fox
Appreciate the sentiments but could you
please tone down the language, as younger
people also read this.

Help! Has any EDSer had Prolotherapy treatments? I found out from Rich's link that I am living next to one of the most leading Prolotherapist in the USA!! I cannot believe my luck. Only one person has tried it here in our support group, most have needle phobias. I am willing to get over the needle thing as long as I can get results. I know it is based on each individual but I have a real healing problem and that seems to be the basis of the therapy. So if one is a poor and slow healer is there greater pain and can this be improved by natural medicine? I also wondered if it would matter if one was a vascular type EDS? Also for anyone out there how painful was exam? I am willing to be prodded but I want to prepare myself for the torture and not be surprised by the pain which always makes it worse somehow. If anyone could help me with their experiences I would appreciate it.

Cheers,
Carole
