Park.... or anyone who has a handle on prolotherapy.... I just found out today that I have bilateral inguinal hernias that I will need to have fixed. My prolo for costochondritis/slipped rib starts next week. Will it be possible to have the hernia surgery during the course of prolo treatments? I am afraid that the aftermath of hernia surgery is alot of antinflammatories..... but I don't really know.

Lincoln, I'd cancel your prolo treatment until after your surgery. It's not worth the worry.

Park,
I am going to talk to the prolo doctor about it. The thing is that the joint pain is far worse than the hernia pain. As long as the hernias are not in bad shape and need immediate surgery, I am inclined to try to fix the joints first since that has literaly ruined 4 years of my life.
I'll see what the doc says, he may agree that I should wait on the prolo.
Thanks,
Lincoln

Lincoln, one thing to consider. Joint dysfunction, muscle imbalance, and nerve pinches/entrapment; can manifest itself in many ways. When you start prolo, your normal pain patterns at first usually change, but don't go away. There is a chance that you may miss "signals" that your hernia condition is worsening. The body can not experience all pain at once. Typically, only the most painful stands out. If your hernia doctor states that waiting a year for surgery is too long then hands down, I'd opt for the hernia surgery first. You don't want to mess around with the continuity of the prolo if you can help it, especially if you're seeing results.
