Years in medical school, rent, payroll, liability insurance, supplies, advertisements, up-to-date training in the latest and the greatest (which not all doctors do). But you are right, they are still so expensive. Too bad for those whose insurance policies do not cover it.

It's really simple: Most doctor's could be making more money in the same time slot rather than injecting sugar water. There is never going to be a ceiling to their charges (if they are warranted), but sure as shootin', there is going to be a minimum. Bottom line: If a doctor can't get 300 or 400 dollars cash at time of service for prolotherapy, it's not worth their time.
