The family dr. has diagnosed my daughter with hypermobility...he didn't state the cause of it. He had her take that test (can't remember the name...starts with a B) and she scored a 5/5. He didn't test her for anything else and just said to have physical therapy. Being an orthopedic surgeon, he also recommended shortening the tendons surgically if therapy din't help but I would like to learn alittle bit more about this before we do anything drastic. I wish my daughter could be properly diagnosed first. She didn't respond to physical therapy at all. Her tendons are larger than normal and were begining to ache so she would stretch and then would tear the muscles that she had been trying to build up. Isn't there a cause of hypermobility? Can someone only be hypermobile and have uncomfortable and mildly painful dislocations and have her joints lock in place frequently? Although she is in no major pain...aches come and go at will. When you have HMS (or other related health issues)is the pain chronic or could it be more mild? Also, is rollerblading good for teens with hypermobility? (She has rollerblades that stabilize her ankles so that they won't collapse uderneath her [Roces])

Happy Holidays to all! Ü
