Hi,
We highly suspect that our 18 mo. old daughter has EDS. We'll see a geneticist in December, but in the meantime I am wondering about surgery. She has congenital hip dysplasia that has been an absolute bear to treat, and we will be her 3rd surgery on it at the end of December (I'm sure it's been hard to treat because of the EDS and her hypermobile joints and hypotonia).
What things should I talk to the doctor about regarding her surgery and EDS? I'm concerned about wound healing and scarring. Her other two surgeries were closed reduction surgeries, which means that she was simply put under and the hip was manipulated, no cutting. This time there will be at least one incision and probably bone reshaping.
Any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance,
Nola
