i may not bge correct, but i think a sublaxation means not a complete dislocation, like where it pops out of place half way, or slides back in.. something like that, while a dislocation is like popping your hip or shoulder out, where you have to go get a doctor to manipulate it to get it back in place.

A dislocation means that the joint is not located where it is supposed to be.
Subluxation means that the joint is in the correct location, but not aligned properly.
The post above's definition of a subluxation was describing what a a hypermobile joint is. Many subluxations are ones where the joint is actually locked or wedged in place due to a misalignement (where as the joint if aligned properly would be moveable).
