I have had some interest in my "bendy thumbs".
So in an effort to show what they are like I have put a picture on my website.feel free to take a look and do let me know if the situation is a familiar one. Jonathan B

Hi Jonathan, your thunb picture has me wondering. My left one looks like that but my right one doesn't. In fact my left hand appears rather more mobile altogether
than the right one. I wonder if this is because of being predominantly right handed I have built up those muscles more. If I think about it I have far more trouble with
joints on the left side of my body. I wonder if this is co-incidence?

I'ts "funny" to read this, because also by my cousin and by me it started on the left side of the body. First her left thumb and left shoulder disconnected even before
there was something wrong with the right side. A year later her right side began. The same story for me. Is that something that almost everybody has? Well I will
search on this page to find out. I just found it queer that there are more people by who it starts there

With me, it's the right.. I think every problem I ever had is on the right side of my body..

I too am left-handed and nearly all my problems
are on the right side of my body. I'm convinced that
is reflective of two facts:
1) my muscles on my left side are stronger that those
on my right.
2) I have a S-curve, by which my spine curves one way (not
sure which)and my neck curves the other. (My sense of
misallignment is in my neck, back, and shoulders).
I don't meet the diagnostic criteria for hypermobility so
I'm checking into whether I am a case of untreated scoliosis.

I am right handed and my problems are on my left side! Tonight my left side, every joint, is in emense pain. So much so that I cried for 1/2 an hour while my dd looked for all of my meds(kept on top of the upright freezer). It took me a while to decide I HAD to take them. I was wondering if it was related to handedness. I wonder what the corralation is. I think I will take this to my docs and ask them.

Hugs beth
