I have been dealing with my right hip screaming at me for 2 months now and nothing is helping. Does anyone have any suggestions. Sitting is the worst and I have a
sit down job. I get up every hour and walk. That helps but at the end of the day I just want to crawl into bed.

The pain is still there and my dr wants to inject me with cortisone. I don't like that idea, but if it works I'm willing to try it.

Have you tried sitting astride your chair as if you were riding a horse? I had bad hip pain a couple of months back and found it was relieved by straddling the chair
and rolling forward onto my pelvic bones, which seemed to have the effect of rotating my hip joints back into their sockets.

Thanks Gwen I will try that.

Anybody find pain is worse with changing weather? My hips are bugging me so much; whenever it rains they get worse. Anybody have ideas about this?

Yes, I frequently have problems with changing weather. I don't know if it is barametric changes or what, but I get the most piercing pain in my joints. I also seem to be looser during that time.

I often feel in less pain if the weather is warmer but quite honestly at the moment I am in so much pain in my right hip that I feel very fed up and tearful all of the time. I have had pain in this hip for four years, it's getting progressively worse. I am at my wit's end with what to do. Nothing seems to relieve the pain apart from spending most of the day laying down with two hot water bottles on the fron and back of my hip - has anyone got any suggestions at all that might help?

Anna, have you scrolled back and read my posting about sitting astride a chair? I find that helps a lot. I also sometimes get relief by lying on my front with a pillow under my hips to support them. Have you tried doing stretches? Stand with one foot on a chair or higher if you can. I like to put my foot on the rim of my washbasin. Tilt forward from the pelvis (not bending from the waist) until you feel a tightening around the hip of the supporting leg. Keep the stretch on for about 30 seconds then do the other side. Repeat a couple of times more.
