Yesterday I was drying my hands and suddenly felt a sharp pain in the lower joint of my little finger, as if I'd been flicked with a rubber band. When I looked it had
swollen rapidly and was purple. Obviously I'd burst a small blood vessel. The only other time I've had a similar problem was about ten years ago when I had a rope
burn to my leg and a ruptured varicose vein. To my knowledge I've never had any other vascular problems. Does anyone know if this condition can increase the
number of body systems it affects?

I have experienced extreme pain in various finger joints usually after pressure has been applied. I have noticed this often and although painful seems to be very
shorterm although discoluration appears for some days. A Pyhsiotherapist saw this and said she had never seen or heard of this before. The Rheumatologist I saw
recently asked me if I suffered from varicose veins as this was a symptom of HMS, but luckily I don't. I wondered afterwards if this finger thing was relevant.
I would like more info if any available. THANKS GYLL
