I have artheritis in my hands, and the left one is swollen, red, and killing me. I just have to get this off my shoulders now. To people that understand. One top of that
the knee that I injured(just standing up from the chair) 2 weeks ago still hurts and tonight there is a fever. Does anyone know how long it takes for a "normal" "slight"
sprain in the knee to heal? I dare NOT go ask the doc that dxed it, major idiot. My doc probably will not have room for me tomorrow anyway. Hugs all

This may sound like a dumb question, but... how do "we" sprain joints?
To my recollection, I've dislocated many joints many times which usually pop back into place a few seconds to a few hours later. The joint feels "raw" for a few
minutes to several days.
I always thought that one good feature of EDS was the ability to avoid sprains and "jams" (like when people "jam" their fingers playing volleyball).
How does a sprain differ?

I am not sure. However, I am going to look up the definition when I can. I think that a sprain constitutes an injury to the ligaments or joint tissue. I have injured
somehting as it is still tender weeks after the "incident".
Maybe someone can correct me.

Please don't think I am a nut. Artheritis can be succesfully treated with Bee Sting threapy. My grandparents became involved over twenty years ago. My grandfather
could barely pick up his coffee cup in the morning forget continue his dental practice. Now they have treated hundreds of people with apitherapy. Every thing from
chronic fatigue to MS. I am thirty three and have used it for two years so that i can continue using my hands. I was also using it on my back to control the nerve pain,
bdfore I started prolotherapy to tighten up the ligaments. There are several places on the web to find more info. Apitherapy. com is one. It hurts to do , but the relief
is worth it.
Sorry about your knee

I don't know how long a sprained knee has to heal normally. I know only my experience. Since I am older than 20, my sprained joints need around four weeks until
they feel normally painless. They only hurt then with bad movements.
I wish you all good things I can think about and a lot of force.

Beth, a very gentle cyber cubble followed by a long, warm, perfumed bath and a gentle sensuous massage with rare and precious oils. Then to be gently wrapped in
a snuggly blanket and carried so so carefully to your warm, soft yet supprtive bed for a night of sweet rest, punctuated only by the pleasantest of dreams.

That sounds like my dreams. Thanks.

I love you all! I found you when I used the net for the first time at college and I could have cried! At the risk of being boringly repetitive I am overjoyed at finding so
many people with the same problems. I am a nurse, and have found that I must accept my career, as I would like to see it, is over. My husband (of 4 weeks!) works
in Saudi Arabia and, although I have done a year out there, I know that I cannot work out there again as a nurse due to the lack of knowledge and medical back up
over there. One doctor who I worked with tried to put me on traction!!!! I refused and was nearly forced to go back to work in pain. Voltarol 100mg wasn't even
touching me! I am going to live out there but will be a dependent and that really is a hard pill to swallow.
I am at a loss as to what to do with my life! It's so hard to live with pain constantly, to be seen to be coping and not be in pain by friends and family, and therefore
feel like you're a fraud and just don't want to work.
I haven't had any 'medical' intervention as such but go to a really good osteopath who realigns me. I have tried weight machines and they really do help; shoulder
shrugs with dumbells caused tendonitis and I haven't been the same since so I don't recommend it!
I drove a van last october and appear to have held the steering wheel too tight due to nerves....I have had a swollen right thumb which cracks and swells daily ever
since!!
I won't go on too much, or have I already? :)
I just wanted to say thank you to you all, keep up the good work, and remember just a little bit of chat and humour does us all the power of good.
Take care of yourselves, Jude.
P.S. Would like to know where the conference is in September & how to find out about a seat/ticket/place.... just in case I still happen to be in the country. Cheers.

I'm sorry Gwen, there doesn't seem to be anything coming up on your reply...or is it just me? I thought i was doing so well on this modern technology thing too!!

Ok, it is me again. I am experiencing my first REAL bought with SEVERE lower back pain. I have pinched my sciatic(sp) nerve 3 times in a month. I felt like I popped a rib out in my middle back 2 days in a row and now I have been on Prednisone for my lower back since Monday(November 26). I start another round of Physical therapy next week. If this doesn't work we are going to do an MRI to see what is going on. Any one here with any suggestions?
Hugs
Beth
