Hi,
I was diagnosed with HMS about 2 months ago and have been wondering if some of the symptoms I have might be related to HMS.
The symptoms I'm referring to are: frequent urination at night, tinnitus (clicking sound in the ears), and a bloated feeling in my stomach after meals.
I've noticed these have increased ever since I started suffering from the pain related to HMS. Other things which I also wonder if they're related to HMS are acne, premature gray, and vericose vains. (I just turned 30 but started getting gray hairs and spider vains since my early twenties.)
Any input would be appreciated, especially about the bloated feeling in my stomach. It's very uncomfortable and I don't even eat that much.
Thanks,
Silvia

Hi Silvia
I haven't been diagnosed as of yet, but my physio told me I have overly mobile joints while she has been treating me for pain in my Thoracic area, which nobody seems to be able to tell me what it is or cure it, I have had it for about a year now, it started about a week after my 30th birthday and has been growing ever since. Anyhow I can relate to these other sypmtoms you mentioned in particular the getting up in the night to use the toilet, and it doesn't seem to matter how much I drink or even if I don't drink for a long time before I go to bed. I also have terrible hot flushes for no reason and almost no concentration, regular dizzy spells and constant tiredness.
Does any of this sound familiar?

helen, i am an insomniac, and get out of bed numerous times a night also to use the bathroom, and i make sure i dont drink before i go to bed. But since i am an insomniac, i was able to rationalize a reason for this, during REM sleep (the deep sleep) your kidneys concentrate urine, so that you dont have to get out of bed, thats why most people have to use the bathroom the first thing in the morning. Since i rarely reach REM sleep before something wakes me up, my kidneys probably just never start concentrating urine. I am an insomniac because of pain i believe, because when i starting manipulating my back nightly before i went to bed i began to sleep a little better.
