Does anyone know any good sites for detials about the human skeletal structure? - this is because there is a bone sticking up through my skin on one foot but not the other. There is an obvious difference when you touch it and I want to make sure that this is OK.
Thanks

Hi Geri
I have a bone sticking up on the top of one foot and not another and always wondered about it till the other day when I went to a physiotherapist. I am hypermobile (and not sure what else, many symptoms, no diagnosis yet) anyway, she said that it is caused by my flat feet and hypermobility in my ankles, as there is a calcium buildup on the bones due to shoes rubbing over years, on bones that should not have been sticking up normally, but were because of the HMS. I have never been aware of rubbing, however this must have been happening for my whole life, as I have always had this bony rounded protruberance. Hope this helps :-)

Hi there-
my (soon to be diagnosed) 9 year old has a bump on his foot that looks like an extra ankle bone. The dcotor muttered something about calcification, so I guess this is what he was talking about.
I think it was developed when he had some shoes that were rubbing on that spot. That was the only time it hurt. The new shoes help the pain, but I'm wondering whether orthotics would help to solve the problem.
