Hips are killing me!
When I walk I feel them litteraly slide out of place. Are there any hip braces?

Johanna, there are pelvic braces for loose hips. I was supposed to get mine this week but the hospital supply store had to order them in. For now, I'm wearing a strap that my physiotherapist gave me, to tide me over. My physiotherapist also gave me some good exercises to do to strengthen the muscles supporting my joint.

I was provided with a very cumbersome hip brace by my physical therapist 4 years ago. thick plastic and padding around my waist- metal "joint" going down the outside leg and attached to same heavy plastic and padding which goes around my thigh. He said it was for people who had stokes or hip replacement surgery problems I believe. The relief was unbelievable. I could actually walk. I just looked at it and can't find a company name on it. sorry.

My genetecist says that I need bracing for both my hips and shoulders. Does anyone know an orthopedist in the Dallas, TX area who is familiar with EDS and could help me with this?
