I was wondering how many other people out there have had a capsular shrinkage on their thumbs or wrists. I've read posts where people had it done for their shoulders, but most people seem to just get their thumbs and wrists fused. I had a capsular shrinkage on my cmc joint at the base of the thumb a year ago. So far the outlook for that joint is good. Two days ago I had the same done for my wrist. I was wondering if these surgeries have helped anyone else and if they have lasted. I see a wonderful hand surgeon in Philadelphia named Dr. Osterman. I live in upstate New York, so it's not very convenient, but definitely worth it. I think these surgeries are a much better option than getting things fused, but I have yet to find someone else who has had this done.
