Hi,
I am 14 years old, and I went to see my doctor about it. He pretty much said that there was nothing that I could do about it. Is he correct in saying this? Or is there any surgery that is available for my fingers and toes?
Thanks,
Jeff Buccola

I think you can try prolotherapy before
going for surgery. You can go to this site
to get the prolo doctor list.

I'm a 19 year old girl from Holland and I'm also thinking about surgery for my thumb and shoulder
If there is anybody who knows the possible solutions and who has personal experience, please contact me.

I'm a 22 year old violinist with ehlers-danlos (classical type). In my opinion surgical procedures should be your LAST option, and really think about the pros and cons before you do it. I had hand surgery in high school and still regret it more than I can tell you. Check out www.silverringsplint.com; they are small, easy to use, silver splints that are comfortable to wear -- and don't even look like splints to the "average human."

I had shoulder surgery last August (I am thought to have HMS or HEDS). It was a thermal capsular shrinkage and we will see the results in the future, so far it has gone pretty well (I have RSD as well, which made things a whole lot more tricky and PAINFUL) and I have had only 1 subluxation/dislocation since the surgery (more than 15 months) and that was in the 1st week or 2 (while still immobilised and before it had healed enough to be fully stable).
