Have a look at this web site, you will find it very helpful towards pain relief.

One of the difficulties in assessing the value of any form of therapy is that they are rarely used in isolation. I have had a magnetic underlay for nearly a year now and over the last six months my pain level has diminished but also during that time I have had a course of naturopathic injections and made a concerted effort to improve my level of physical fitness. I still take the occasional analgesic and utilise relaxation techniques.
Any one, or a combination of all these things, could be the reason my pain level is lower. To be empirical about assessing the effects of any one of them it would be necessary to stop the rest and then see what happened over a period of time. Other factors also come into play such as seasonal variations in pain, natural remission and the placebo effect (which should not be under-rated as a valid form of therapy)
I have got to the stage now that I am grateful if anything gives me relief and am not inclined to question too closely why it does or by what particular mechanism it works. All of us are different and will react in different ways. As long as pain relief is the end result does it really matter what is used to achieve it?
