Has anyone else tried cranial osteopathy? It is the most effective treatment I have had, compared to physiotherapy (mild exercise, massage and ultrasound) and acupuncture. Cranial osteopathy does not involve cracking any joints. The osteopath's hands put very gentle pressure on your pelvis, spine, hips, chest, shoulders or head. I can't tell you all the theory but it straightens out your kinks and gives your body a chance to work properly.

Anyone tried ultrasound? It seems to make my pain worse.

I get ultrasound every time I go to physio. I don't feel worse, but I don't know if it helps either. I also get electric stimulation, combined with heat. That relaxes me, and I think it helps.

I've found craniosacral osteopathy works a treat, plus I've also had success with Fascia Therapy (developed by a French osteopath), the Alexander Technique, and Kinesiology. Conventional osteopathy has given me more problems than it solved - my ligaments didn't like it one bit!

Good luck

Cranial osteopathy works for me, and has done since last November when I was forced to look at alternative pain relief because I had wrecked my stomach with anti-inflammatories. One of the best things about it is the comlete lack of side effects. Your description, Sheena, of "straightening out kinks and giving your body a chance to work properly" sums it up. Well done! I am glad you have mentioned this because I feel a bit guilty now that I have not suggested it earlier to this forum as an alternative to pain killers, at least.

I like to agree with Sheena, because I have had cranial osteopathy as well. THwe last year my back is standingright and steady now. I am very pleased with that, because I can jump , climb, throw, cycle, give P.E. en cycle again! And the pain is gone. I would advise it to more people. It's also very nice there are website now, because when they discovered it with me, there was no information. In my surroundings they had never heard of it. I am curious if you now anythingabout having injections in your throat and the muscels of your neck. I got that because I got no breath many times and then almost suffocated. They told me that there's was something damaged in my muscles and I got a bacterium in my throat. Do you now something about that?
