When I tried Voltarol, I had pretty severe side effects; nausia, vertigo, etc. I stopped taking them and was prescribed Vioxx, and have no obvious side effects, but ever since the voltarol, I have had stomach problems; when I gotta go I gotta go, it's as if I am not digesting any of the fibre in my diet. It can be accompanied with a fever that goes as fast as it comes and a lot of pain sometimes too, but that bit is sporadic. Has any one had these symptoms as a result of Voltarol, or is it a possible effect of the vioxx, even though i tried not taking it for a fortnight and still had the symptoms? I'd appreciate any ideas.

I don't know, Vicky, but Vioxx made me retain water like crazy. My feet get huge during the day and I go to the bathroom all night, loosing 5 to 7 pounds by morning just to have them fill up again during the day.

That would explain the problems I have been having; I had also been muttering things about shrinking socks, without making the connection! I have heard about a couple of alternative remedies for water retention; I'll try that, and tell you what happens.

I tried Vioxx and nothing happened except my stomach got very cranky. I'm now on 2-200mg Celebrex capsuls/day plus 1-20mg Celexa in mid evening an hour before bed. These two drugs work very well together for not only joint pain, but expecially for fibromyalgia, my most recent problem. I am also taking Arthro-7, a condroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate compound to keep the joint tissues intact. My case is extremely difficult and am not likely to ever get better, just don't want to get any worse!!!! I'm on disability at age 53, now 55. Diagnosed as having EDS type 2 from Father and type 3 from Mother.
