hi, i just wanted to share this with everyone! i was suggested a site, i dont remember it, saying water is the cure for many problems. i was skeptic, but checked it out. it said arthritis and subluxations can be worsened by dehydration, and to drink more water whenever in pain. so i decided to try this, instead of my usual ice tea, gatorade, or soda i decided to drink water, water, and more water. from 64-96 ounces a day is recommended, so i tried for a week making sure i met the requirements each day. and it realy did help! i have had alot less subluxations, and overall, i am not nearly as stiff and painful as i usualy am!!! all my joints feel better except for my back. i am continuing this and hope that will catch up. so you guys might want to try it, it might help!

Hi Lin,

Thanks for your post, it reminded me how much my doctor has emphasized to me to drink plenty of water. He says that patients who suffer from chronic pain are usually dehydrated as well. Anyway, after reading your post I went and grabbed a tall glass of water :-)

Ice tea and soda containe caffeine, which is a diuretic. Caffeine causes dehydration, so drinking anything with caffeine excessively may quench your thirst while actually doing you more harm. Switching to more water would be better for anyone.

I like the tip about increasing how much water we drink. Thanks! To add to that, as with anything, moderation is important. It is possible go to the opposit extreme and overhydrate,leaching essential vitamins, minerals and salts from the body. Consistently choosing water as a beverage of choice is the ticket.
