Hi Everybody,

Has anyone with Sacroiliac Joint dysfunction ever tried the elliptical trainer as an exercise to try and loose weight. I have HMS and most of the chronic pain I have experienced is on my right SI joint.

Thank God I'm now doing much better after getting prolotherapy treatments, but I'm still not 100 percent. Anyhow, I have gained a lot of weight this past year due to chronic pain, inactivity, and hormone therapy. My rheumatologist told me that I should avoid being overweight to avoid adding extra stress to my hypermobile joints. But he also told me to avoid hight impact aerobics.

If anyone has any experience with the elliptical trainer or any suggestions about any other exercises I would like to hear about it. I just don't want to do anything to hurt my Sacroiliac joints.

Thanks,
Silvia

I use the elliptical all the time and love it. I may not have the looseness you do, though, but I am hypermobile(and my sacroilliac hurts a lot), and I have a connective tissue disease, so I have pain in most of my joints. My suggestion would be to try it, but without resistance and go slow. Good luck. Lori
