Hi there,
My daughter has recently been told that she has hypermobility syndrome and although she dances and is flexible and very good at it, her muscle tone is not very good. She has weak muscles especially around her hips and when she has to lift her leg up high in tendu, (this is when you stretch it out to the side and lift up high), you can hear a click clunk noise and she has complained that it hurts. I don't know what this is and I am concerned that perhaps she should not do ballet if it is going to harm her. Has anyone else out there got the same problem? Or can anyone explain what this click clunk noise is. My email address is pj.mattson@btinternet.com.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. I am a 32-year-old woman with lousy (hypermobile) joints.

How old is your daughter? Is she on pointe? Where is the pain?
