I have recently had this operation to correct mis-alighnment of my right knee. At the same time the surgeon moved my crucial ligament and pataella. Has anyone else
had this? What results did you have? Currently my leg is held in place with screws whilst the bone heals and I am in a lot of pain (nothing new there then). I would
appreciate any news on this procedure that any one has. Thanks. My e-mail address is: murphym4@talk21.com

I had a lateral release & quad muscle sewn to my knee cap to stop my dislocations. (Moving the patellar tendon's attachment via cutting the bone & screwing the
attachment and bone in a different place is the 3rd step if the first 2 weren't enough for me.)

I don't understand what you had done or why. Please explain!

I'm 8 weeks post-op. I'm starting to resume more normal activities like walking without a limp, climbing stairs, etc. I never had much pain with my operation. The
hardest part is figuring out how to control the muscle that's in a new place.

Feel free to contact me also.

Hey Sue
Just a quickie, I've had bi-lateral lateral releases and neither workeddue to it being soft tissue surgery and the EDS making my soft tissues sooo bad quality they
never healed! I'm really pleased that you appear to be having much more success than me. Soft tissue surgery (wrist, knee, shoulder, hip) has NEVER worked so
I've always had to resort to more drastic measures. I did write to Dr Zaslav (spell) whom you recommended some months ago, but he never replied. Anyway good
luck with your improved knee joint. I also had gross co-lateral and cruciate instability so this probably didn't help matters much either! I even had a screw fixating my
diatal radial ulna joint for six months in conjunction with an above elbow cast to make some scarred tisssue - but all that happened was the scre eroded my bone and
fractured my ulna. So after a total wrist fusion 12 months ago, I'm now awaiting a Herbert Implant i the ulna in an attempt to stave off fusing the ulna. ANyway, once
again it was great to hear it had worked for someone! Good Luck and it would be good to know how thigns pan out. Keep smilin' :-)))
