Should I trust my prolo doctors?

Hypermobility Forum for people with Marfan, EDS: prolotherapy: Should I trust my prolo doctors?

I went to see my prolotherapist today. I
told that I have cortisone shots at L4-L5
before. Also I injured other joints in
my back. He examined me and then told
me that he will do prolo on my L4-L5 and
SI ligament. Since I have pain with
my L4-L5 for a long time, so I know exactly
where it locates. After he did prolo on
my back, I found out that he did not prolo
the L4-L5. He actually did prolo on L1-L4
and told me that he did it on L4-L5 and SI
ligament. Can I trust a doctor like this?

I am really worry if he did anything wrong
to my back. Unfortunately, he is the only
prolo doctor in the area I live. I feel
so helpless!

Why not ask him outright what area he gave you prolo. Tell him it didn't feel to you as if the injections were in the right place. If you don't ask you won't know. I guess that ultimately it depends on whether what he does makes you feel better. Another alternative is to continue receiving treatment from him and see if there is any improvement.
I recently asked the musculo-skeletal doctor who is treating me about prolo. He says that he will not do it as the solution used contains phenol which, if accidentally injected into a blood vessel, may cause death. Instead he uses lignocaine in the trigger spots. Not only does it give instant relief by being a local anaesthetic but also encourages blood flow to the area feeding the muscles and helping them relax. As they relax it is easier to realign the joints.
Early days yet but my lower back feels better although still having heaps of problems with thoracic and cervical vertebrae and my shoulder girdle. Even just getting the few hours relief afforded by the ligno is good though.

I did ask him what area he gave the prolo
shot, and he told me it is L4-L5 and SI
joint. But I know the shots are actually
in L1-L4. Because I have been to so many
doctors for my problem. I know that L4-L5
and SI joint is near the bum. All the shots
he gave me are in the mid back. I wonder
if he knows his anatomy very well.

Anyway, he is quite famous in our city, so
I should trust him. But what he did and
what told me is contradicted.
