What is this prolotherapy and how exactly does it work? How can somone with EDS who doesn't make scarred tissue, scar through this??! What are the long term
effects? How long does it last? Where do you get it done?
I asked my orthopod and he was very dismissive and reiterated that I don't make scarred tissue. Will somebody please enlighten me, so I can go armed with info!
Many thanks.

People with EDS do make scar tissue. The problem is that our scar tissue tends to be weaker than normal scar tissue, just as our regular tissue is weaker than
normal.

I have heared mixed reviews on prolotherapy from people with EDS. My undestanding is that it can help, but is not as effective for people with EDS as it is for
people without EDS.

Check below for more information.

Barbara,

I have heard similar things as you have. My prolotherapist was the one who diagnosed me with EDS for the first time. I have stretchy skin, and since I started paying
attention, I do get cut and bleed very easily. Still though, after four treatments, prolo has definitely worked for me. I am not getting my hopes up though, and I know I
will need many more treatments, but my doctor has assured me that he has treated people worse off than me and has been very successful. Hang in there gang, and I
suggest you all find a good prolotherapist and give it a try, it can't hurt to try. Good luck and I'll let you all know how it works.

Greg

I'VE HEARD THAT TAKING CERTAIN MEASURES PRIOR TO PROLO CAN HELP. SUGAR, MSM, VIT C.. CAN'T FIND THE PLACE ON THE NET WHERE I HEARD ABOUT THESE THINGS. DOES ANYONE HAVE SOME ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR TREATMENT TO MAKE THIS THE BEST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE?
